Mainframe Software Administrators Training

 

We have an immediate paid training and job opportunity for mainframe software administrators with a Fortune 500 company for individuals open to relocating. Apply before the application window closes on February 28, 2025!

Don't have experience with mainframe yet? No worries! Selected candidates will participate in a 12-month paid training and residency program. The immersive, comprehensive training curriculum spans 6 months, starting at $22.50/hour full-time.

After relocating across the US, based on location, candidates will participate in a 6-month residency, receiving on-the-job mentorship and earning $25.00/hour full-time. Successful candidates will convert to permanent employment with the company, accompanied by a salary increase and a $5,000 completion bonus.

For many companies, their technical architecture is dependent on mainframe systems. However, most colleges no longer teach mainframe development, and many developers are retiring. Qualifications

The ideal candidate meets all of the requirements and has:
  • Experience that demonstrates technical knowledge; for example, back-end programming language, operation system, network administrator, cyber security, IT/help desk
  • Eagerness to learn problem-solving techniques in Unix-based operating systems
  • Desire to work from the command line and understand the needs of users and team members
  • Curiosity about the software development life cycle, data management, security, and agile work environments
  • Passion, drive, and aptitude to succeed

Requirements

Requirements for this opportunity include:
  • Commitment to relocate in the US for the residency and eventual full-time hiring with a customer
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status
  • 4-Year degree in any major

How Does the Process Work?
At LaunchCode, we know the job search is complicated. Here is an overview of what you can expect from our application process:

Phase 1: Written Application. Begin your application above by providing demographic information and answering essay questions.

Phase 2: Recorded Behavioral Video Interview. All candidates will record responses to behavioral interview questions at their convenience. Each question allows for a two-minute response time, with unlimited opportunities to re-record answers. Applicants must submit their video behavioral interview 48 hours after submitting their application.

Phase 3: Technical Video Interview. Candidates who complete the recorded behavioral video interview with a passing score will also be required to interview virtually, live with a LaunchCode representative. They will provide more details on the program and include command-line-based questions to assess technical skills.

Phase 4: Resume and Informational Questionnaire. Final applicant pool candidates will undergo rounds of resume revision until approval and complete an informational questionnaire.  Applicants will have three business days to complete resume revision, receive approval, and complete the questionnaire.

Phase 5: Interview with a Fortune 500 company. Candidates will participate in mandatory interview preparation sessions before interviewing with our Fortune 500 partner company.

Phase 6: Start Training. Selected candidates will begin the 6-month training, relocation, and 6-month residency.
